Pamela Gail Galloway, "Pam," is a true and welcome fresh face to Wisconsin politics. Pam Galloway ... the candidate you can trust! Dr. Pam Galloway is running for Wisconsin's 29th Senate District to challenge state Senator Decker. She is a medical doctor and surgeon, specializing in breast cancer. She reflects several principles advocated by Thomas Jefferson, meaning that public service is the main business of citizens. She likes being involved in questions of governance and has stayed close to the political issues of the day for many years. Pam is a conservative, and proud of it. She's a listener, and her medical training has taught her a great deal about "hearing" when she "listens." She has had to weave her way through very difficult problems to get to the heart of solutions. She prides herself on her capacity to solve problems. Pam and her husband of 31 years, Christopher, "Chris," moved to Wausau in 2003 and since then she has worked on the staff of Langlade Memorial Hospital in Antigo, Marshfield Clinic in Marshfield, St. Mary's Hospital in Rhinelander, and she activated her own Breast Center of Central Wisconsin, S.C. in 2007 where she serves to this day. "I am a physician Read "I am a Physician poem at the bottom" While a fresh face to Wisconsin politics, she has operated in the natural human political arena since she became a medical doctor, participating in numerous professional societies and society commissions, serving as a teacher in multiple highly technical and rapidly developing scientific medical specialties, involved in many publications and publication reviews, all of which have involved grueling and demanding peer reviews about issues of life and death. Dr. Galloway's Prescription: Restart the heart of Wisconsin's economy. It doesn't take long for a professional at this level to recognize the challenges that confront the residents of Wisconsin's 29th Senate District. Pam has commented this way: "When you look at Wisconsin today, the negative effects of misdirected government are overshadowing all the wonderful positives. The current legislative majority, under the leadership of ... Decker, has failed to remedy and address the root causes of our local economic downturn. Tax increases enacted this year on individuals and businesses of over $5 billion are promoting job loss and inhibiting job creation.” Pam has noted that a report published by Forbes Magazine ranked Wisconsin the 3rd worst state in the nation to do business, five spots worse than last year. Also, a recent report by The Wisconsin Taxpayer Alliance says Wisconsin may be the 6th highest-taxed state in the country with all the new tax increases, up from 11th highest. She adds, “My grandparents immigrated to this country in search of freedom and prosperity, and our current government seems focused on eroding both. As your State Senator, I will use the principles of economic and social conservatism to restore responsibility to our government. The founding fathers established a system of limited government and prosperity through individual responsibilities and freedoms. Wisconsin has veered off course. It is time to return to the original path." Pam earned her B.A. from the University of Chicago in 1976 and her Doctorate of Medicine (MD) in 1980 from the University of Virginia. Since then, she has worked in Ohio with the Institute of Pathology, served as an assistant professor and associate professor of Pathology, a Neuropathologist consultant, as active staff at several hospitals and as a member of a number of medical committees. Dr. Galloway is certified with the American Board of Surgery, has received numerous awards and honors for her work, has belonged to many professional societies and is widely published. She is very knowledgeable on the health care issues and challenges we face today, and has vigorously and publicly opposed so-called "health care reform" plans now circulating in Washington. Pam is a member of the Wausau Area Chamber of Commerce, National Federation of Independent Business, and Immediate-Past Chairman of Marathon Republican Party. She is on the executive board of the Susan G. Komen for the Cure Central Wisconsin Affiliate.
